The opportunity
Royal Mail’s public website needed reusable interface components that could support a broad set of services and remain dependable across its supported devices and browsers.
I worked as part of the Proximity London front-end team, collaborating with Capgemini, who delivered the Drupal-powered back end.
The approach
Rather than treating each page as an isolated build, the team created modular components from the ground up. This gave us greater control over behaviour, testing, and consistency across the website.
Accessibility was integral to delivery. Components went through rigorous testing to meet DDA expectations and provide a comparable experience across supported platforms.
Contribution
- Built reusable interface components within a large delivery programme.
- Collaborated across agency and implementation teams.
- Supported accessibility and cross-browser quality requirements.
- Worked with semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a Drupal integration.
